Rosenstein and Gartner Dentistry, PLLC

Everyone deserves to have a picture-perfect smile. If small flaws like chips, cracks or stains are preventing you from loving your smile, The Aventura Dentists can fix the problem with porcelain veneers. These tiny shells of porcelain are made to fit over the surface of the teeth to mask imperfections and create a more attractive tooth. Though veneers are thin, they are incredibly strong and durable and can last for many years.
Porcelain Veneers Benefits
You might benefit from the placement of porcelain veneers if you are bothered by any of the following:
- Slightly chipped or cracked teeth
- Stained or discolored teeth
- Abnormally shaped or sized teeth
- Slightly crooked teeth
- Small spaces in between the teeth
- Worn-down teeth or eroded enamel
Keep in mind that veneers are a cosmetic solution that masks the problem (as opposed to fixing it). Significant structural or spacing problems usually require the placement of crowns, orthodontics or another restorative dentistry solution.
Appearance and detail are important with porcelain veneers, so it’s important to work with a dentist that demonstrates attention to both. Our dentists have many years of experience placing veneers, and a demonstrated track record of beautiful, natural looking results. We are extremely comfortable with the various ways veneers can be used to make over a smile, and we like to stay abreast of all advances in veneer technique and technology, too.
Placing Porcelain Veneers

Traditional porcelain veneers are placed in a two-part process. The first step is a consultation with our dentists to evaluate the affected tooth (or teeth), discuss the patient’s goals for tooth color, shape and size, and determine the best course of treatment.
A small amount of enamel is removed from the tooth to make room to accommodate the veneer. Impressions are taken of the tooth and sent to the dental laboratory that is responsible for constructing the veneer. The porcelain is also color-matched to the patient’s surrounding teeth for a flawless result.
A temporary veneer can be placed over the prepared tooth while the permanent veneer is being fabricated. This is a good opportunity for the patient to “preview” their result with the temporary veneer and offer any feedback for the final restoration.
Once the permanent veneer is ready, another appointment is scheduled. The temporary veneer is removed and the permanent veneer is placed over the front and biting edges of the tooth and bonded or cemented into place. The veneer is checked against the bite, and modifications can be made as needed for fit or comfort.
Veneers are extremely strong and durable, and with the proper care and maintenance, they can last for many years. They can be brushed and flossed daily, just like natural teeth. Veneers also retain their beautiful white color indefinitely, as they are resistant to stains and discoloration.
What Are The Differences Between Implants & Veneers?
Veneers and dental implants serve very different purposes. A dental implant is essentially an artificial tooth used to replace missing teeth. Unlike veneers, which are placed on the outer surface of the teeth, implants are integrated with the bone as an artificial root and then covered with a dental crown. Porcelain veneers are the better option for patients who are only seeking surface improvements.
